About the Role: 

Are you passionate about providing inclusive spiritual care and pastoral support to a diverse community? We are seeking a dedicated College Chaplain to join our team. The Chaplain will foster a welcoming environment that supports personal growth, community engagement, and interfaith dialogue. You will ensure our college community thrives in an atmosphere of inclusivity and respect. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Spiritual and Pastoral Care: Offer confidential one-on-one support for students and staff navigating personal, spiritual, or ethical challenges. Provide guidance to individuals from all religious and secular backgrounds. 

  • Interfaith and Community Engagement: Develop and lead interfaith programs and events that promote understanding and respect among diverse traditions and beliefs. Organize educational workshops, talks, and celebrations around cultural, spiritual, and philosophical themes. 

  • Ceremonial Duties: Plan and conduct ceremonies to mark key milestones or college-wide events, designing inclusive celebrations that recognize diverse faiths and secular perspectives. 

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with student organizations, curriculum, and administrative staff to support the well-being of the campus community. Serve on relevant committees to represent spiritual and ethical perspectives in institutional decision-making. 

  • Promote Well-Being: Collaborate with mental health counselors and wellness teams to address holistic student needs. Provide a visible and accessible presence on campus to ensure individuals feel supported. 

Qualifications: 

Essential: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Chaplaincy, or a related field 

  • Training in pastoral care, counseling, or a related area . Or a willingness to complete a degree apprenticeship in this area.

  • Deep understanding of diverse religious traditions, secular philosophies, and spiritual practices 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills, with the ability to empathize across diverse perspectives 

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), for interacting with individuals and groups from varied backgrounds 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a complex institutional environment 

  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills 

  • Organizational skills to plan and execute events, programs, and initiatives 

  • Professional and approachable demeanor 

  • Tactful and diplomatic
